Working with operators to offer a suite of Free-to-Play games – to engage and retain customers

These are going to be a challenging few months for all businesses and organisations – including those that revolve around a normally very busy sporting calendar. No simple scheduling solutions are going to present themselves for the sports events’ organisers – but everyone is hoping that things get back on track as soon as possible.

We are working with our client-operators to make sure that a decimated sporting calendar does not have to mean that there are no engaging and entertaining concepts available to keep their customers engaged with their brands. Given the constraints on sporting events, and potentially on players’ wallets, these games are aimed at offering a fun, and free, distraction at a very stressful time for many.

Examples of all such games and engagement mechanics can be found by scrolling through the below.

Some sports events are still going ahead. For example, several US horse racetracks are still running races – obviously without spectators. We are also creating FTP offerings around e-Sports, which can be staged – and watched – in a fully virtual environment. The interest is certainly there, with CS:GO breaking the 1 million mark for concurrent players for the first time in its 20-year history on 14th March.

Indeed, many sports fans appear to be switching their interests towards gaming platforms, with Steam reporting 20 million concurrent users and 6 million in-game at one time on Sunday, 15th March. To this end, SportCaller’s FTP platform also supports games that are not tied to sporting events, such as sports trivia quizzes and hyper-casual games. These can reference any historical event and tap into sports fans’ inherent interest in making correct predictions, and also help to foster an element of connectivity with players challenging their friends in head-to-head competitions or in private leagues.

Hopefully we, and our client-operators, can continue to provide a much-needed outlet for the sports betting public during these uncertain times.
